Bringing together three of the region’s most sought-after musicians – Sandra McPherson, clarinet; Susan Lamb Cook, cello; and John Cozza, piano – TriMusica will present an afternoon of musical delights in honor of the Crocker’s permanent collection of European painting. Included in the program will be Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 11, nicknamed the “Gassenhauer”, which was composed especially for this appealing trio of instruments, newly popular in chamber music at the turn of the 18th century, evoking the idyllic social gatherings and salon parties seen in many works in the Crocker’s European painting collection. The program will unfold like a musical soirée as the members of TriMusica perform their own arrangement of Schumann’s Fantasy Pieces. Join us for this musical party not to be missed.
